Chelsea are facing a striker shortage for their FA Cup trip to Brighton with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu struggling with injuries.

Manager Enzo Maresca said on Friday: “Marc Guiu unfortunately it’s a bad injury. Nico is better.”

“Nico could [play this weekend] but it could be a risk but we’ll see. It doesn’t look like a long injury.”

Asked if Guiu’s injury could be long-term, Maresca added: “Could be, yeah. We are still waiting but it doesn’t look a short injury. It’s a long injury. Probably weeks or months.”

Romeo Lavia, meanwhile, facing “a long way to go” in his rehabilitation.
